These are websites for the government entities which are responsible for processing your case, if you decide to file bankruptcy:
First, www.alsb.uscourts.gov. This is the official website for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Alabama. Generally, this court serves southwest Alabama. I am licensed to practice before this court, and this is where our office files bankruptcy cases for clients.
Second, www.alsba.uscourts.gov, the official website of the Bankruptcy Administrator who serves the Southern District of Alabama. This office oversees the administration of bankruptcy cases in southwest Alabama. You can find a list of approved credit counseling agencies at this website.
BANKRUPTCY ORGANIZATIONS
There's www.nacba.com, the website for NACBA. NACBA proudly bills itself as the only national organization dedicated to serving the needs of consumer bankruptcy attorneys, and protecting the rights of consumer debtors in bankruptcy.
